   Neo's got a good essay on the unfortunate case of Jill Carroll, with a
   meditation on Patty Hearst. [1]Part 1 and [2]Part 2.

   I'd like to go on record: if I'm ever captured and tortured and facing
   death for myself and possibly people I love, I will tell those people
   anything they want to hear, say whatever they want me to say on camera
   if I think it means I'll get a chance to be freed... so I can help
   hunt down and kill whoever did it to me later.
