The McCain-Feingold Anti-Sedition Act

Hey, Dean, I'm with you on this issue but perhaps "Hitler-Stalin Bill"
is a widdy-bit over the top. The title of this post is my preferred
nomenclature for the series of "reforms" that you've suggested be
   called the "Hitler-Stalin Bill."

Another name might be the "McCain-Feingold Fifth Estate Preservation
   Act."

I have been [1]blogging on this issue, and [2]related ones, for a long
time. My problem is that the "blogosphere" has allowed itself to be
[3]co-opted by the forces of free-speech repression here, by approving
and even urging a carve-out for bloggers. Mike Krepansky, a big force
behind this blogger-protection activity, has [4]butted heads with me
(gently) on this before. But this is, I believe, not only a position
that is short on principle (leave the blogs alone and we'll stop
screaming about a law that [5]unconstitutionionally limits political
speech) but in the long run a tactical error as well.

Hitler and Stalin? Maybe not. But a long way short of Jefferson and
   Madison.
