   Lab-grown organs [1]are a [2]reality. It's interesting too see the
   [3]Google results; apparently this was being done with dogs a few
   years ago. They're about to start growing heart valves as well. How
   long before robotic surgeons are routinely implanting grown hearts and
   lungs as replacements for aging organs, and you can pay a company to
   grow and keep some on hand for you just in case you need them?
   It occurs to me that to some degree singularity (defined as the point
   at which technological change is so rapid that predictive ability
   breaks down) depends on the time frame you assign. Certainly no one
   (or at least, very few) predicted the Internet's rise and current
   pervasive nature 20 years ago in 1986. Is it safe to assume we can't
   predict what life will be like in 2026? Is that time horizon actually
   shrinking?
