Welcome to the Carnival of the Liberated, a sampler of some of the
best posts of the week from Iraqi and Afghani bloggers. The posts from
Iraqi bloggers this week have been pretty bleak. I don't write them--I
just read them and select the best for you. This week we've got the
Abdul Rahman affair, lawlessness, unfunny April Fools jokes, mistakes
made, reconstruction, and much, much more..

[1]Afghan Lord and [2]Afghan Warrior both posted this week about Abdul
Rahman, the Christian convert who was to be put on trial for apostasy
   there.

[3]Riverbend has her own ideas for appropriate April Fools Day jokes.

Sunshine of [4]Days of My Life complains about the way Iraqis are
portrayed in the media. She includes a number of pictures of her home
to give us a different idea of how Iraqis live: it's a nice
middle-class home, a little cozier than some I've visited.

Mama of [5]Emotions... reflects on the third anniversary of the
invasion and explains how her feelings about the American soldiers
   have changed.

[6]Imad Khadduri posts his thoughts on the deterioration of the
   educational system in Iraq.

[7]Freedom of Mind doesn't know what to believe anymore.

[8]Hammorabi is still very upset about the raid on the Al-Mostafa
   mosque two weeks ago.

[9]Ibn Al-Rafidain looks to the past for inspiration and has a
collection of pictures with commentary of the Baghdad of a century
   ago.

Iraq the Model has been posting up a storm about the deteriorating
political situation there. [10]Mohammed's most recent post paints a
pretty gloomy picture for the prospects. He considers out-and-out
   sectarian war a distinct reality.

Fayrouz of [11]Fayrouz in Beaumont posts some emails from Iraqi
blogger Al-Baghdadi of [12]Al-Shekhili. He's moved to Jordan and his
description of the situation in Baghdad is grim:

Referring to what happened, all I can add is that those killers
keep torturing their victims in a brutal way that no one can ever
imagine, no one can dare look at their dead bodies and that means
nothing but ill monsters had targeted them.

Other thing, my brother's son told me that they were more than 8
gangsters in two cars one car is very famous now in Baghdad. It's a
model of Toyota sedan called "batta" in Iraqi [duck in English].
It's more expensive compared to other similar types. And, if you
ask about the reason, the answer is very shocking. It got a wider
trunk, which can hold a kidnapped man in it. The car is mainly used
for kidnapping by Mehdi army and others.

[13]Treasure of Baghdad writes about the lawless state of things
   there.

[14]Iraqi Roulette posts about Jill Carroll's release, the state of
Iraqi politics, and prospects for the future.

In response to U. S. Secretary of States Condoleeza Rice's
acknowledgement of mistakes made by the U. S. in Irag, [15]Truth About
Iraqis begins a list of the mistakes.

Miriam of [16]Pearls of Iraq reports that [17]Kurdish Media has taken
up her challenge to report the status of reconstruction on a regular
   basis. [18]Here's their latest installment.

Dave Schuler posts regularly to his own weblog, [19]The Glittering
Eye. The Carnival was originally conceived by Ryan Boots.
