   I make no bones of the fact that I think the risk of Bovine Spongiform
   Ecephalopathy, otherwise known as BSE or "Mad Cow Disease," is one of
   the most overhyped medical fears of the last decade, right up there
   with Ebola, SARS, West Nile, Bird Flu, and, well, you get the drill.

   So it won't surprise you to learn that I just snorted and rolled my
   eyes when I read that [1]mad cow may have little or nothing to do with
   prions, the supposed cause.

   You really have to wonder what they do with all that tax money we pump
   into the NIH and the CDC.
