	The jury should have handed down the death penalty
	for Zacarias Moussaoui, the Frenchman of Moroccan
	descent who was recently convicted for his role in
	the September 11, 2001 attacks that killed 3,000
	people. They went weak. Yet a life imprisonment
	sentence at Supermax in Colorado - with no contact
	with the outside world for the rest of his life -
	is far better than an acquittal. However, no way
	should the U.S. even entertain France's request
	that Moussaoui serve out his sentence in France. In
	Europe, "life imprisonment" too often means very
	early release after only a few years....
