	The voting has concluded in this year's Brass
	Crescent Awards and the results have been posted
	online. This was a very strong year for the awards,
	and I am pleased to note that we had particularly
	strong entries in the new category "Best Ijtihad"
	(wherein muslim and non-muslim bloggers alike rebut
	extremist ideology). SheilaX's post "Islam,
	fundamentalism, and the betrayal of tradition" took
	top honors here but the other entries are well
	worth your time. The winner of the best non-muslim
	blog was Lisa Goldman's On the Face - who is
