     Personal style is an overlooked factor in presidential
     effectiveness. It can be an asset or a liability. George W. Bush,
     for example, is seriously style-challenged.
     It shows most glaringly in his relations with world leaders and the
     American Congress. He's either a good buddy or a bully; there's no
     in-between. He's been a patsy for Russia's Vladimir Putin and
     Mexico's Vicente Fox, treating them as good buddies while they
     clean his clock in matters where American national interests
     collide with those of Russia or Mexico.

   It's always bothered me about Bush thinking he had a read on Putin's
   soul. Kind of a foolish way to run the world.
