Write Inane Blog Entries? You Will!

   Andrew Sullivan recently [1]resurrected the AT&T âYou Willâ ads from
   1993. There is more than enough commentary on the ads themselves, as
   viewed from a 2006 perspective.
   However, while in the days to come, parodies may be made of the
   original ad, it is unlikely that any of them will top a parody my
   memory vividly recalls from 1993 when the ads were airing. The source?
   None other than The Late Show with David Letterman. Sadly, it does not
   (shock horror!) appear to be on YouTube.
   âSoon, You Will eat electic corn.â
   (cut to scene of Dave sitting in a kitchen set with a red checkered
   tablecloth. He has a huge goofy grin on his face and is holding an ear
   of corn with a wire coming out of it plugged into the wall. He takes a
   bite and a cheesy electrocution effect plays)
   âAnd the company that will bring it to you? AT&T.â
   Iâm not sure exactly why I found it so hysterical, but I still
   remember it years later. If only I were a writer for Conan, I had some
   vicious ideas for those banal Cisco ads from a couple years backâ¦
