	This is why I disabled the comment function several
	months ago. One bad apple (or a few) ruins the
	bunch. Some good came from my action. First, I got
	rid of the blog's malcontents, at least one of whom
	wasn't even a philosopher. (I should have known
	better than to allow unknowns to join.) Second, it
	prompted Chris Lansdown of PowerBlogs to modify the
	comment function to allow me to (1) approve comment
	accounts in advance and (2) approve individual
	comments in advance. Cretins—of whom, sadly,
	there are many—no longer have access to this
	site....
