McCain-Obama: A challenge for the readers
http://chessmind.powerblogs.com/posts/1224798363.shtml
Some time ago I came across a made-up game between Obama and McCain,
complete with dialog between the players, won by Obama. Obama's play
was pretty bad, but the game's composers contrived to make McCain's
chess even worse, as he got mated in something like 11 moves.
In part because I want McCain to win (probably not a popular view
among my readers, but c'est la vie), but more because the earlier
composition turns McCain into a doofus (can't one's opponent at least
have some positive quality?), I'd like to see if my readers can do
something better. Pay attention not only to the game, but the quality
of the banter: perhaps "Obama" will promise to meet with Topalov
without any preconditions, and his new ratings policy will affect only
the top 2% of all chess players; "McCain" will keep pieces in some
part of the board for 100 moves if necessary; "Biden" plagiarizes from
English chess authors; "Palin" thinks she is a strong chess player
because she can see Russia from her state, etc. You get the picture.
It would be nice to see a McCain win in there, but whatever you want
to submit, as long as it's funny and reasonably respectful, will
certainly be considered. Short entries are probably okay for the
comments, but if you've got something longer, use the Contact link
instead, either to send it through there or to get my email address
and send it that way.
