While the games have been coming out on the [1]monroi.com site, the
best place I've found so far for tournament information is [2]here.
Apparently there will be a playoff of some sort between the three
players mentioned in the title for a $300 cash bonus and the title of
Chicago Open champion, but pending those results there's a three way
tie for first between Varuzhan Akobian, Tigran L. Petrosian and Hikaru
   Nakamura with 5.5/7.
One other performance worthy of note is that of Joshua Friedel, who
not only defeated Nakamura in round 2, but also beat new US Champion
Yury Shulman in round 6. He had White against Julio Becerra in the
final round, and a win would have put him into the first-place
tie...but he lost. Still, he moved closer to 2500 FIDE (and maybe
exceeded it - I'm not sure), and that's important because without it
the three GM norms he has earned are insufficient to give him the
   title.
