   Grandmaster, former Soviet champion and Candidate, and well-known
   endgame theoretician Yuri Averbakh is 85 years old today. (He's also
   the inventor, at least the chief founding father of the eponymous
   Averbakh Variation against the King's Indian Defense: 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6
   3.Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6 5.Be2 O-O 6.Bg5.)
