	This past weekend, the French Top 16 (a team
	competition) concluded, and Hikaru Nakamura's 3-0
	finish will put him over 2700 on the July 2008 FIDE
	list, according to his stepfather, Sunil
	Weeramantry. (This I discovered from a brief chat
	with him earlier this evening at the tournament
	site for the National Open. The main event starts
	tomorrow; today (Thursday) there were some side
	events: a G/10 tourney (won by Nakamura, I was
	told), a couple of simuls, and a G/5 (yet to occur
	by the time I left). (I have no results to report -
	I was just checking...
