Ah, blessed relief....
http://www.antimedia.us/posts/1204696862.shtml

....is here, if only temporarily, now that the primaries are over here
in Texas. (Although with all the threats of lawsuits flying around,
the subject will still be bandied about for a while.)
Of all the ads we had to mute, the one that irritated me the most was
Obama's ad about not taking money from lobbyists. First of all,
[1]it's not true, his [2]denials and pontification notwithstanding.
But what irks me a great deal more is the pandering to the ignorance
of the uninformed voters who seem to make up the majority of the
   Democrat's supporters.
Lobbyists, like businessmen, are easy targets for demagoguing,
especially when your audience is comprised of unquestioning boobs. But
what is a lobbyist? We all know that oil companies and chemical
companies and the NRA have lobbyists. The Democrats remind us of that
   every day.
What they don't mention is lobbyists like the AARP, the ACLU, Planned
Parenthood, every union in America, The Gay and Lesbian organizations
and on and on ad infinitum ad nauseum on the liberal side of the
   aisle.
But they also don't mention the many other lobbyists who represent
Americans like you and me. The Dairy Farmers Association, the Milk
Producers Association, the Software Developers Association, The
Veterans of Foreign Wars, The AMVets, The [3]National Council of
Social Security Management Associations (bet you hadn't heard of that
one.) They number in the thousands.
Lobbyists, contrary to the Democrats' tendentious claims, work hard
for you and me every day. They provide the details (yes, with their
bias applied) that our legislators don't have the time to learn before
passing the bills that they've never even read.
Take away lobbyists and only the wealthy will have a voice in
Washington. You won't hear Obama saying that. But do you honestly
think that, if he is elected, you'll be able to send him an email and
he will consider your concerns carefully? What's the chances of that
happening as opposed to say, someone representing American military
veterans getting an audience with him to discuss VA funding?
What the Democrats do, both with CEOs and with lobbyists, is pick the
most egregious examples they can find and make them the exemplar for
the whole profession. They could care less about the truth. They want
to stir up your emotions, build your hatred toward a certain class of
people and motivate you to support them in their supposedly valiant
efforts to eliminate those evil people (while taking their money,
dining with them and traveling around the world in their jets.)
If you believe them, I've got some property in Wisconsin I'd like to
   sell you.
