Can Fred pull off a miracle?
http://www.antimedia.us/posts/1200716032.shtml

I've been watching Fred Thompson's campaign with interest, puzzled by
his failure to move up in the polls, prayerful that things would
change but unencouraged by the polling and the morose attitude of the
many bloggers who support him but fear that he can't win.
Now he seems to be [1]on fire in South Carolina.

Traveling through snowy South Carolina with Fred Thompson, Iâm
struck by the sense that finally, the man has arrived. The
candidate so many conservatives were excited by early in 2007 is
     finally walking the land.
The Fred Thompson in South Carolina this week is the one America
saw knock into Mike Huckabee as a pro-life liberal with âblame
America firstâ beliefs whose economic policies would destroy the
economy. And the crowds love it.
Though barely mentioned in the national media, Senator Fred
Thompson has been on a barn storming tour crisscrossing South
Carolina for more than a week. In a unique approach, he is not just
going to major media markets, but to rural areas of South Carolina.
On my first day on the trail with Senator Thompson, he drew a crowd
of 180 people to a small Mennonite restaurant in Abbeville, South
Carolina â population 26,000 with a median income of $15,370. He
capped off the day at the Orangeburg-Calhoun County Technical
College in Orangeburg, South Carolina with over 200 people braving
a rare snow shower to hear him. The day before I joined him on the
campaign trail, Senator Thompsonâs campaign saw large capacity
auditoriums overflowing with people standing outside the buildings
     waiting to get in.

Fred can't seem to catch a break in the media (no surprise there), but
they may have underestimated the power of old-fashioned politics
   combined with [2]modern technology.
While they're busy preparing his campaign's eulogy Thompson is
barnstorming South Carolina building excitement and momentum.
Meanwhile Fred has been picking up endorsements from people like Mark
Levin, who urged South Carolinians to vote for Fred tomorrow, and
raising hundreds of thousands of dollars (now at almost 1.2 million in
the past week) on his website.
According to the [3]most recent poll, Thompson has gained 8 points in
South Carolina in the past two days! (He's jumped 8 points in Nevada
as well.) The race in South Carolina seems to be narrowing to one
between Huckabee and Thompson. Even a second place finish would be a
shock to the media and boost Fred's coverage in the press. (Huckabee
   trails badly in Nevada.)
That may be all he needs to become a top-tier candidate poised to win
   the nomination in November.
