Just as I thought....

....We're being bombarded with campaign ads right now, because our
primary is March 4. One of Barack Obama's ads lists some of his
economic plan. One item of that plan is "no taxes for seniors who earn
$50,000.00 or less annually."
Guess how much people in that category pay in taxes now. I wasn't
sure, but I had my suspicions. So I went to [1]1040.com, punched in
married filing jointly, both with $25,000 annually in social security
income.
The result? $0.00 in taxes. Zilch. Nada. Zero.
Bingo. One campaign promise fulfilled, and he hasn't even been elected
yet. :-)
In another ad, Obama says something along the lines of, "we're going
to take the tax breaks that lobbyists gave to corporations and give
them to the middle class."
Uh, I know he hasn't been in the Senate long, but surely Obama knows
that lobbyists don't give tax breaks to corporations -- Senators and
Congressmen do?
If Americans paid attention to what politicians say, we'd all be
better off.
