....[1]some disaffection on the left and completely misinterprets what
it means.
âIf the ⦠Party does not nominate the candidate for POTUS that the
majority (or plurality) of its participants in primaries and
caucuses want it to nominate, then I will quit.â
And if I donât get to be the quarterback, Iâm taking my ball and
going home.
And so is Donna Brazile. And so is blogger Chris Bowers.
They are mad because the DNC will include 795 superdelegates.
Bowers quoted Brazile as saying: âIf 795 of my colleagues decide
this election, I will quit the Democratic Party. I feel very
strongly about this.â
Well, bye. See you.
Don's not alone. I'm reading this sort of attitude all over the place.
"Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!" "McCain
Derangement Syndrome!!!" "What are you going to do? Vote for Hillary?"
The problem is, if enough people leave, those who say this will be
swallowing that arrogant attitude like a bitter pill later on.
The reality is, a lot of people are completely disgusted with the
current state of politics. The parties have rigged the game to the
benefit of incumbents and insiders making real change the single least
likely thing to ever happen.
Arguing that you should sit back and swallow whatever shit sandwich
the parties serve you isn't exactly a winning argument. Reminds me of
[2]a certain Texas gubernatorial candidate whose campaign sunk like a
stone after he was quoted as saying, "It's like rape. Once you realize
it's inevitable, you might as well lay back and enjoy it."
That was the end of his short-lived political life.
There's a lesson in there somewhere, if the parties are listening.
