   ....whose logic and integrity I appreciate. There are a handful whose
   prose I admire. Christopher Hitchens is one such writer. He has
   outdone himself with [1]his paean to Mark Daily, a soldier inspired by
   Hitchens' words to enlist and killed by an IED shortly after arriving
   in Iraq.
   Daily was a true, old-fashioned?, liberal, motivated by concern for
   his fellow man and concerned about the environment but with a deep and
   abiding love for the country of his birth. Convinced, in part, by
   Hitchens' rhetoric that the war in Iraq was a just one, Daily sought
   to serve his country and defend his fellow mankind by enlisting as an
   officer and volunteering for duty in Iraq.
   I shan't despoil Hitchens' words any further. Read them for youself.
