It started with your email. My exchange below is with a friend and noted
analyst for a well-known Think tank and is a frequent guest on Fox Cable
News. I've deleted his name and email address since I don't have his
permission not to do so, but I think his comment is a revealing confirmation
of what your readers guessed about the interviewer.

I'd never heard him before--disgusting fits him; probably a good thing he
failed and left farming (what does that say of the renowned BBC?), or we
might get contaminated food from him.

this is the disgusting John Humphries, he left TV and radio to become a
farmer. he failed and came back. He always frames the questions in the "when
did you stop beating you wife" manner.
