   ....and all the rest of you commie traitors, [1]can you hear the
   footsteps?

     Not many Vietnam veterans were around for that march on the
     Pentagon 40 years ago. We were in a different world, a world few
     anti-war protesters could even imagine. Maybe because we missed all
     that four decades ago, we want to be there this time.
     It won't feel right to us Vietnam vets to face protesters with our
     backs to the Vietnam Wall. Many of us will be glancing over our
     shoulders at the names on the Wall every once in a while. And some
     of us will shed a few tears when we do.

   Forty years ago you got a free pass. This time, you'll be facing the
   heroes you spit on and insulted so casually. The one thing you will
   not do is desecrate our holy place.
   Can you hear us? We're coming. From all over America, we're coming.
   From another world and another time, we're coming. In buses and cars,
   on motorcycles and planes, by hook or by crook, we're coming. With a
   determination borne of sacrifice and pain, we're coming.
   You'd better be ready. We are. This has been a long time coming for
   us. This time you'll have to insult us to our faces. You won't be able
   to hide. And we're not going away. You're going to have to look us in
   the eye and tell us our sacrifice was wasted and our buddies' deaths
   were worthless. We won't be wearing chains and manacles and we won't
   be guarded by brutal communist "soldiers".
