1) He's not "carbon-neutral," because he'd have to grow another Amazon
Forest to match his continued fuel use in his private jet. And even then, so
what? No net gain. (His residence, while 20 times the average residential
energy consumption, is by comparison, "smoke.")
2) There's no direct comparison between "carbon foot prints" and global
warming, vs. energy consumption. More smoke.
Or is he just matching the contributing "release" into the atmosphere of
cows?

....of much of the blogosphere, but Al Gore [1]the shill for carbon
offsets investors is the real story. As Gore jets around the world
pounding the drum of global warming and generating fear that if we
don't do something right now it may be too late, he quietly pockets
the profits from his own carbon offset investment firm for [2]select,
high net worth individuals that invests in "green" technology. So,
when Gore stumps for global warming, it has the nice (for him) side
effect of enriching him and increasing the value of his company.
Imagine the president of General Motors flying all over the world
trumpeting a new technology for transportation while he quietly buys
more and more of the very stock that will dramatically increase in
value through his efforts. Think anyone might be a bit upset by that?
Imagine him getting an Oscar for his efforts!
This is breathtaking cynicism the likes of which has never before been
seen in US politics.
Now Gore wants to be elected President so he can enact policies that
will increase his net worth even more (all safely tucked away in a
"blind trust", of course.) (Hat tip to [3]File It Under.)
