The reason our media is so pathetic....

....is because they are [1]taught by liars.

The dean of Columbia University's Graduate School
of Journalism unwittingly summarized in a single paragraph what is
     wrong with journalism today.
Nicholas Lemann, writing in the current issue of the New Yorker
magazine about the trial of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, former chief
of staff to the vice president, said:
"The White House dispatched former Ambassador Joseph Wilson to
Niger, in February of 2002, to find proof that the country had
shipped yellowcake uranium to Iraq. Wilson not only came up
empty-handed; he said so publicly, in a Times op ed piece that he
published five months later. The administration then went on
another search for evidence -- the kind that can be used to
discredit Wilson -- and began disseminating it, off the record, to
a few trusted reporters. That led to the unlawful exposure of
Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, as a CIA agent."
It's hard to cram so many errors of fact into so short a space.
     Let's review

It's not hard when you're a liberal, apparently. You simply ignore the
facts and create your own alternate reality. Then you repeat it
constantly and refuse to admit that any of it is false. You put it
into your textbooks as though it's "the truth", and you teach it to
   your students.
So, journalism students learn that the truth is irrelevant. Beliefs
are all that matters. Repeat the lie often enough and it becomes the
   truth.
These are the people that "report" the news. (Hat tip to [2]Bookworm.)
