I'm going through a tough period right now....

....(not that I'm complaining, mind you) with a lot of pressure at
work and all the discouraging behavior of our politicians in
Washington, and sometimes I find myself wondering if all the work I do
and the untold hours I spend on this blog is worth it.
Then I get an email like this (published with the author's
   permission.)

Is there any move at ANY level to try to get the AP or FOX or some
frickin body to tell the "Rest of the Story"....
I was just thinking about this (no reporting of enemy casualties)
while listening to the news this last Monday...
I can't find a website that has a "Comment" or "Contact" hyperlink
     at the AP to gripe.
By-The-Way, God Bless you for what you do!
Love these reports. It's the ONLY truth I can count on.
     Your fellow Patriot,
     Jim Fishback
     Harrodsburg, KY

Jim was reacting to [1]this article where I highlighted the fact that
we never hear from the media about the deaths of terrorists while
we're subjected to a constant drumbeat of US casualties.
Jim, you made my day. And the fact that it's hard to find a way to
comment to the big media is deliberate. They have no interest in your
   opinion or mine.
My wife and I have recently talked about how you go through life not
really thinking about all the little things you do. Then one day
someone shares a personal victory or breakthrough with you, and you
realize that you played a part in that by something you said or did.
At the time, you may not have thought much about what you said or did,
nor did you attach much significance to the doing of it.
You may not realize it, but your words and deeds can have a profound
effect on others. When Jim sent that email, he may have dashed it off
without thinking it was anything more than a little thank you note.
When I read it, it was the perfect antidote to an otherwise
   discouraging period in my life.
So, in times like these, when we're surrounded by pessimism and
defeatism, when it seems like the forces of evil are prevailing, when
the cowards seem to have the brave outnumbered and gutless politicians
make you ashamed of America, speak out for truth. Speak an encouraging
word to someone in your life. Do something special for someone you
   know.
It's the little things that make the biggest differences in life.
