....[1]stupid crap that disgusts me to no end. A British reporter goes
on and on about the brutality of Iraqi soldiers, whom he labels as
Shiites, beating a prisoner, whom he labels a Sunni (he provides no
information about how he supposedly knows this), and whining about how
the American troops stood by and did nothing.
I'm as opposed to brutality as anyone, but I have to ask. Why is it
that the media never highlights this kind of behavior from the
terrorists? Is it "fair and balanced" to always highlight our "sins"
while never once discussing the "sins" of the enemy? Why is it OK to
show videos of snipers picking off our troops, but it's never OK to
show terrorists beheading innocent victims? Why is it OK to go on and
on and on and on and on about Abu Ghraib, but it's not OK to show
innocent victims jumping from the twin towers to their deaths?
This kind of reporting is sick and twisted. It's a warped view of the
world that excuses the absolute worst, bestial behavior of amoral
animals and criticizes the slightest misbehavior by a small minority
of the nations that stand for freedom, justice and the rule of law.
Either you're opposed to all violence, or you're opposed to none of
it. You don't get to selectively decide who gets held to ridiculously
high standards and who gets held to none at all and then expect your
audience to respect you or listen to what you have to say.
The people who fall for this crap are the biggest fools on earth. (Hat
tip to [2]Blackfive.)
