   ....this [1]incredible story of bravery in which four British Royal
   Marines insisted on going back into the teeth of the enemy to retrieve
   a fallen comrade. The way they did it is even more amazing.

     Four Royal Marines flew into a battle zone clinging to the outside
     of helicopter gunships in a bid to rescue a fallen comrade, the
     Ministry of Defence has revealed.
     Unwilling to leave behind one of their number following a retreat,
     the commandos strapped themselves to the small stabiliser wings of
     two Apache helicopters and returned into the midst of a fierce
     gunfight with the Taliban in southern Afghanistan.

   In case you don't understand, this is what defines the difference
   between us and the enemy. We will put our own lives at risk or even
   lose them rather than leave a buddy behind. They will kill anyone who
   can't keep up, gets in the way or simply provides a convenient
   transport mechanism for murder and mayhem.
