The rats are scurrying away....

....[1]from Baghdad in anticipation of the crackdown. It will be
interesting to see if the populaces of the areas they move to, which
have enjoyed relative peace and stability, will resist their presence
   or assist them.
Interestingly, the Al Qaeda/Sunni groups are not going to Ramadi,
because the local tribes there are now actively fighting against them.
They're moving to Diyala, where they hope to find a more hospitable
   environment.
One thing that strikes me -- doesn't the fact that they are scurrying
out of Baghdad reveal that they are fully aware they cannot survive a
consistent pressure from coalition and Iraqi troops?
And wouldn't it be nice if someone, anyone, in the Arab world would
provide troops to the coalition? Their abject failure to do anything
to help the Iraqis will not be forgotten by the Iraqis, I'm sure. How
will that impact the middle east in the future?
And shouldn't the west take note of the fact that every country in the
middle east is sitting on its hands? Isn't this an implicit statement
   that they support the terrorists?
