   to anyone with a modicum of military knowledge.

     Now, it wouldn't be "Countercolumn unless I slammed on the media
     some. So here goes: Look at the "fast fact" below the art: "The
     AC-130 gunship is capable of firing thousands of rounds per
     second."
     Wrong. The GAU-12U Equalizer Gatling gun has a max ROF of 4,200 RPM
     (3,600 RPM sustained) That's per minute. Not per second.

   Ahem. Nothing I know of can spew 4200 rounds per second -- not even
   [3]Metalstorm, which isn't in production yet, but has been test-fired
   at 2000! rounds per second (which is what gives the weapon its name.)

     A U.S. helicopter gunship conducted a strike against two suspected
     al Qaeda operatives in southern Somalia, but it was not known
     whether the mission was successful, CBS News reported Monday.

   Umm...has no one at the Washington Post ever even looked up [4]a C-130
   gunship on the internet fer cryin' out loud?????
   If they're this sloppy with easily checked facts, how much effort do
   you think they put in to verifying that six Sunnis were burned alive
   in front of a mosque?
