   ....I don't know if you'll [1]understand this, but you need to read
   it. Maybe a light bulb will go off, and you'll understand the
   sacrifice that our military makes on your behalf. I don't include
   myself in that hallowed bunch. I was a simple sailor, doing a job that
   needed to be done, far from the guns and the bombs. But I know men who
   have faced the fury and lived, and I've known men who gave their lives
   on my behalf. I pray for them all and wish there were more I could do.
   Alas, they must fight their battles alone.
   They deserve respect and honor and reverence. They deserve our
   unconditional support.
