It borders on Treason. What's missing is intent. General Petraeus testified
recently before Congress that a non-binding resolution will be harmful to
our military efforts there and to the moral of our troops. So those who vote
for it have to dismiss our foremost expert on insurgency who testified that
he believes it can work, having been in Iraq in Command of the 101st (in
combat) for a year and written "the book" on counter-insurgency for the
Army--even though they virtually unanimously approved him to take Command in
Iraq, promoted him to Four Star and execute the new plan. But they cannot
say they had no "knowledge" or warning on the effects of their actions,
while substituting their non-professional judgment for his professional
judgment. That's about as close as one can come to Treason during war time.
As for the other soldier, the Democrat, send him Winston Churchill's famous
quote:
"When you are young, if you are not a liberal, you have no heart; when you
are old, if you are not a conservative, you have no heart." Maybe he should
get an early start.

....of the non-binding resolution to disapprove of the so-called
"surge"? Well, at least two of them [1]aren't exactly pleased by it,
and one of those is quoted saying "I don't want to bad-mouth the
President at all. I mean, to me it's treason."
The lefties will howl about the treason comment, but so what? They
howl about everything. Free speech is one thing. Trying to demoralize
the troops and denigrate the President purely for political advantage
is another entirely. No, it's not treason, but it's certainly not
patriotism either.
Which is why, I guess, the other soldier interviewed said this: "It
makes me sick. I was born and raised a Democrat, but when I see that
it just kind of makes me sad."
