Sometimes liberals can't help themselves....

....and despite the fact that they've mastered the art of lying, they
   still reveal [1]their inner thoughts.

Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.) was unwittingly revealing in his
description of the role of Congress in achieving U.S. victory or
defeat in Iraq ["For GOP, Discord in Dissent on Iraq," front page,
     Jan. 31].
Mr. Emanuel stressed that it is logically impossible to create an
Iraq war resolution "that is both meaningless and undercuts the
     troops."
Consistency requires then that Mr. Emanuel and Democratic and
Republican co-sponsors intend to craft either a meaningless
resolution that does not undercut the troops or a meaningful
resolution that in fact does undercut the troops.
One might then ask why either option constitutes responsible U.S.
policy when tens of thousands of soldiers are engaged in deadly
combat on the front lines of this long, difficult and decisive war.

Nice to know you guys care so much, Rahm.
Fortunately, the Republicans, who have shown a disgusting lack of
spine in the past, seem to be holding firm, refusing to allow the
Democrats to undercut the troops. But make no mistake about it, that's
precisely what the Democrats want to do. They're just trying to find a
way to do it so they can argue that undercutting the troops was never
   their intention.
Just like they claim that refusing to uphold our promises to South
Vietnam was never intended to kill the millions that died as a result.
