Greyhawk spots another article....

....about our military that is [1]filled with inaccuracies. He just
makes one mistake. He calls Greg Mitchell a "reporter". Nothing could
be farther from the truth. Mitchell is a biased, demagogue who hates
George Bush and despises the military. He has consistently harangued
the media to write negative articles about Iraq, George Bush and the
military.
EXCLUSIVE: Soldier In New Friendly Fire Case Did Not Get Full
Training

WASHINGTON Two soldiers killed in Iraq in February may have died as
a result of friendly fire, Army officials said Wednesday, not from
enemy fire, as the press reported.
The military suspected friendly fire later in February but did not
inform the dead soldiers' families of these new doubts.
One of the soldiers died just hours after arriving in Iraq -- and
was one of those troops rushed to the country in the "surge" who
did not receive full training.
First, the brigade involved wasn't a part of the surge. Their
deployment was announced well before the surge. Second, the idea that
we would send troops into combat with no training is laughable. The
soldiers he refers to missed specialized training designed to teach
them specifically about the situations they would encounter in Iraq.
That training would have nothing to do with avoiding friendly fire.
Friendly fire accidents are one of the worst things that can happen in
battle. My cousin, Donald, was killed in Vietnam by friendly fire. Our
military trains constantly to avoid friendly fire by practicing muzzle
discipline, following orders and maintaining awareness of the
battlespace.
But Mitchell could care less about that. He's perfectly willing to
step on the bodies of these young men in his lust to condemn the
military.
