I think the fuss is that the democrats depended on the vagueness in most
people's minds about what was known about bin Laden and al Qaeda during
Clinton's 8 years, to allow everyone to focus on Bush's administration. And
that vagueness is now removed. Bad things were happening against us, our CIA
was not supported properly--and of course they couldn't exchange information
with the FBI--which still had a culture of law enforcement, vs. the
perceived cowboys in CIA--and Clinton's administration was like the FBI--a
law enforcement mentality--afraid to take the aggressive actions needed.
Now, of course, the left is portraying things as though both Clinton and
Bush were essentially equally at fault--despite Clinton's 8 yrs and Bush's 8
to 9 months at the helm. Let's see what Part II brings on. (Hasn't been
shown yet where I am.) Anonymous

   ....I found myself wondering what all the fuss that the left made was
   about. There wasn't anything in the drama that surprised me except the
   scene in the US Ambassador to Yemen's office. I was unfamiliar with
   the details of that episode. Everything else was familiar territory,
   cussed and discussed in the blogosphere over and over again.
   I believe the greatest impact of this drama will be to open the eyes
   of those who don't follow politics and events as closely as I do. Both
   my wife and my daughter, who watched the docudrama with me, asked a
   number of questions, revealing that they were much more ignorant of
   the details than I.
   In fact, I was surprised yesterday to find a spike in my traffic, all
   attributable to online searches for "Ramsey Yousef". This tells me
   that many people are just now becoming familiar with the events that
   led up to 9/11.
   I'm not sure what impact this will have, but I hope it will result in
   pressure on Congress to stop squabbling and bickering and get the job
   done that we sent them to do -- improve security and protect us from
   terrorism. Perhaps it will wake some up for the first time, or
   reawaken those who fell asleep in the past few years.
