Today's Iraq report
http://www.antimedia.us/posts/1146536839.shtml
I haven't posted anything on Iraq for some time, so this is going to
be some serious catch-up. While the media has been busy trying to sell
you on the idea of civil war in Iraq and the headlines have been
filled with bombings and death, our troops, working [1]hand in hand
with the Iraqis, have been quietly working to rid Iraq of its criminal
elements and foreign terrorists.
Terrorists and "insurgents" have been dying steadily, and in large
numbers, since the fall of Baghdad, only to be replaced by more fools
who are eager for paradise. The terrorists are even resorting to
[2]blowing up empty buildings in a desperate attempt to stop the
steady drumbeat of progress in Iraq.
Iraqi citizens [3]continue to provide tips that lead to more weapons
caches, some of which [4]are quite large, sometimes [5]capturing the
"insurgents" red-handed. The problem in Iraq is that, for every
[6]weapons cache and [7]IED uncovered, there are [8]hundreds more
[9]just like it.
The "insurgents" don't mind [10]killing children with their IEDs
either, apparently enjoying death no matter who they kill. That is why
we should [11]celebrate every terrorist's death, as our troops are
making Iraq safe for the honest citizens who only want what you and I
want, peace, security and an opportunity to prosper. That is why our
troops [12]track down and kill the bad guys whereever they can find
them, and the Iraqi troops [13]do the same.
The work is hard and extremely dangerous, and our troops keep
re-enlisting for more. It's hard to imagine anyone who would be more
realistic about Iraq and its future than the men and women putting
their lives on the line every day. The fact that they continue to
volunteer for the duty speaks volumes about what's really going on in
Iraq.
