This month's Iraq Index....
http://www.antimedia.us/posts/1146534655.shtml

....I have sad news to report this month. You've probably already
heard it, because it fits in to the media agenda of highlighting the
bad news. We lost 73 men in Iraq this month -- the highest total
fatalities in five months and more than double last month's total.
After steady decreases over the past five months, one can only hope
this is an anomaly, but please keep our troops in your prayers. Things
are rough in Iraq right now, and the enemy is determined to destroy
   American morale.
By far the number one killer of our troops is the IED. Despite the
best efforts of our EOD troops and the recognition training our troops
have been receiving, IED's continue to be a problem that defies
resolution. The "insurgents" are getting better at multi-fatality
bombings, which have shown a steadily increasing trend, month to
month, since Baghdad fell, as have the fatality and wounded rates. We
are paying the price for years and years of weapons buildup in Iraq
   with no international control.
Surprisingly, the number of Americans wounded in action fell in April,
after rising the previous two months. The number of Iraqi security
forces killed in April rose only slightly from March and the number of
Iraqi civilians killed dropped dramatically -- to less than half the
number killed in March. Non-Iraqi civilian contractor deaths shot up
from one for each of the past two months to eight in April. It appears
that the "insurgents" have turned their focus back to American troops
and civilian contractors recently. (So much for the "civil war" the
   media keeps screaming about.)
At the same time, attacks on the Iraqi oil and gas infrastructure
dropped dramatically in April, to just one (from seven in March, six
in February and ten in January.) The number of Iraqi security forces
surpassed a quarter of a million, approaching the stated goal of
272,566. As these forces gain more experience, our troops continue to
recede into a more supporting role.
Clearly the statistics from Iraq are a mixed bag, but you wouldn't
know that from the steady drumbeat of negativity from our media. And
now we have bozos like Joe Biden suggesting that Iraq should be split
into three parts. Apparently Biden doesn't think the Iraqis should
have a voice in their own future.
Are you starting to see a pattern with the Democrats?
