....if it weren't [1]so macabre. The lefties can't wait for three more
Americans to die so they can celebrate the "tragic milestone" of 2500
deaths in Iraq. (Unfortunately, the number seems stuck at 2497. None
have died since Zarqawi exited stage left.)
Nancy Pelosi is so eager, she didn't wait.

The President continues to say that the situation in Iraq is
improving. But just because he wishes it does not make it so. This
week, we have reached the tragic milestone of having lost more than
2,500 of our brave troops. This is in addition to more than 18,000
of our troops who have been wounded, more than half permanently,
and that doesn't even count the mental health needs that our troops
will have. Improving? I don't think so.

I'm trying to figure out how almost half our troops could be wounded
temporarily. I was pretty sure that, once you get wounded, you retain
the evidence for the remainder of your life.
   Maybe Nancy could explain that?
If she's referring to troops that have lost limbs, that's [2]about 6%
of the casualties. More than half of all the wounded have returned to
duty, including 26 amputees, [3]10 of whom have returned to combat.
