What bugs me with all the talk (on both sides) about getting Zarqawi, is
that they don't point out what the military always emphasizes, "leadership."
The historical significance of "leadership"; what a determined and effective
leader--good or bad-- has on events. Churchill for Britain, Stalin for the
Ruskies, Hitler for the Nazis, etc. If they had succeeded in killing Hitler
in '44, does anyone doubt that the war and killing on both sides would have
been cut short, drastically? Or if they had knocked off Stalin early-on,
that millions of lives would have been saved? Sure, others will step in for
Zarqawi, but they won't have his leadership and thus effect. And of course,
now they'll all be looking over their shoulders as to who will turn them
in--as in this case, despite their so-called ideological purity, for money!
