Given the character and pure motives of S Gardner, the following would not
apply. But with Kerry, it sure would. Namely: a close friend of mine led the
Naval intelligence group in Hawaii post-WW II. Frequently they'd practice
various ways to be able to beat a lie detector test--and were able to do so.
My personal contribution was this: in the early 70's a friend of mine
returned from Vietnam combat with the Marines. He had to take a lie detector
test re certain drugs (he'd fail with "Pot"), to clear the way to qualify
for a job as a Firefighter in LA, CA. I called a Psychology professional
friend who told me how the guy should try to hypnotize himself before the
test. He did, it worked, and he became a Firefighter.
I've never tried any drugs, am anti-drug legalization--but when it comes to
a case like this--I was proud of myself! So I'd be very careful that Kerry
doesn't falsely "clear" himself. I think he can convince himself of
anything, maybe even unhypnotized. Phil

....on John Kerry's boat for two and one half months in Vietnam has
[1]passed a lie detector test verifying that his recounting of Kerry's
filing of bogus action reports was true.
Kerry, of course, will never submit to a lie detector test. It would
   be beneath his dignity.
