   ....I couldn't believe [1]what I was reading.

     Freedom to Display American Flag Act passed
     The bill now awaits just the Presidentâs signature to become law.
     The act was conceived by Congressman Roscoe Bartlett, R-MD, in
     response to the many home-owners associations popping up across the
     country refusing to allow Americans to fly their flags on their own
     property.
     U.S. House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) said: âEvery
     American should retain the right to display the American flag, the
     very symbol of freedom upon which our nation was founded. Rep.
     Bartlett should be commended for his leadership on this issue and
     his work to help preserve the core values of this great country.â
     The bill states, âA condominium association, cooperative
     association, or residential real estate management association may
     not adopt or enforce any policy, or enter into any agreement, that
     would restrict or prevent a member of the association from
     displaying the flag of the United States on residential property
     within the association with respect to which such member has a
     separate ownership interest or a right to exclusive possession or
     use.â The bill specifically permits âany reasonable restriction
     pertaining to the time, place, or manner of displaying the flag of
     the United States necessary to protect a substantial interest of
     the condominium association, cooperative association, or
     residential real estate management association.â

   First, you now know why it will be a cold day in hell before I ever
   join any homeowner's association.
   Second, whoever the twits are that prevented homeowners from flying
   the American flag on their own property should have a red I (for
   Idiot) tatooed on their foreheads.
   Finally, it's an topsy-turvy world when people demand the right to
   burn the very flag that homeowners are not allowed to fly on their own
   damn property.
   This is not an America that I'm familiar with.
