   ....my apologies for the absence of posts. I'm on vacation, and my
   internet connectivity is limited to a slow dialup connection. I may
   not get to post at all until mid-month. I'm unable to even keep up
   with daily events at the present, much less write anything myself.
   I've also disabled trackbacks. I'm caving in to the spammers, who are
   the spawn of the devil. As I was, for the thousandth time tonight,
   banning hundreds of trackbacks from spammers, I realized how absurd it
   was that, with the precious little online time I have right now, I'm
   wasting it banning spammers rather than reading or posting to my own
   blog.
   I think trackbacks are an extremely valuable part of the online
   bloggin experience, and they're one more example where the abuse of a
   few ruins something for everyone else. May all spammers go to a
   special place in hell, reserved for those who sucked the life out of
   all good people for their own personal enrichment.
