   ....has worked harder than Tom Maguire at [1]unraveling the threads of
   the Plamegate story. Now that Newsweek has revealed that Robert
   Novak's source, contrary to the bleating left and the lying Wilson's,
   was none other than Richard Armitage, an assistant to Colin Powell and
   an opponent of the administration's push for war with Iraq, the air
   has completely left the balloon.
   However, Maguire has some probing questions for Armitage, who could
   have deflated this balloon long ago but remained silent, for reasons
   not obvious yet. What is even more damning is that Patrick Fitzgerald
   knew before he began his two-year investigation into the leaks, that
   Armitage was Novak's source. So why did Armitage remain silent and
   allow the administration to suffer under the cloud of the "Bush lied
   and people died" canard? And why did Fitzgerald waste two years and
   millions of taxpayer dollars to find the answer to something he
   already knew?
   Such is politics in Washington, where honor and integrity seldom exist
   and where CYA is the game that most play.
