	This author gets the autonomy part right, but he
	ignores the security part. What most of us who
	ended up in academia found beckoning about it is
	the job security, i.e., the tenure. We knew when we
	chose an academic career that job security would
	cost us in salary, but it was a price we were
	willing to pay. You might say that we're paid in
	three currencies: autonomy, security, and
	salary....
